FAR Publisher is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity and quality of the academic work we publish. Our ethical guidelines are in alignment with the principles set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Below are the key ethical standards that authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to:

1. Responsibilities of Authors:

  • Originality and Plagiarism:
    • Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been copied, in whole or in part, from other sources without proper citation. All forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are strictly prohibited.
    • Manuscripts submitted to FAR Publisher must not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • Data Integrity:
    • Authors are required to present accurate and reliable data in their research. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is considered unethical and unacceptable.
    • Authors must be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review if requested and should retain the data for a reasonable period after publication.
  • Authorship:
    • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All contributors who qualify as authors must be listed, and all listed authors must have agreed to the final version of the manuscript and to its submission for publication.
    • The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are included on the paper and that they have approved the final draft of the manuscript.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest:
    • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. This includes financial, personal, or professional relationships with individuals or organizations that could be perceived as influencing the research.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources:
    • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be given. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their research and must obtain permission for the use of any copyrighted material.
  • Ethical Approval:
    • If the research involves human participants or animals, authors must provide evidence of approval by an appropriate ethics committee. Research involving human subjects must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki, and research involving animals must adhere to institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of animals.

2. Responsibilities of Reviewers:

  • Confidentiality:
    • Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share them with others or use the information obtained from the review process for personal advantage.
  • Objectivity:
    • Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources:
    • Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. They should also inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work they are aware of.
  • Conflict of Interest:
    • Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the manuscript.

3. Responsibilities of Editors:

  • Publication Decisions:
    • The editor-in-chief is responsible for making publication decisions based on the validity of the work and its importance to researchers and readers. The decision should be based on the manuscript’s quality, the reviewers’ reports, and the journal’s policies.
  • Fair Play:
    • The editor should evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
  • Confidentiality:
    • The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
    • Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the author’s explicit written consent. Editors should recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
  • Corrections and Retractions:
    • Editors should take responsive measures when ethical concerns are raised about a submitted or published paper. If errors are found in a published article, they should be promptly corrected. In cases of serious ethical violations, the article may need to be retracted.

4. Handling of Misconduct:

  • FAR Publisher takes allegations of misconduct seriously. In cases where ethical breaches are suspected or reported, the publisher and editors will investigate the matter following COPE guidelines.
  • If misconduct is confirmed, actions such as retraction of the article, notification to the author’s institution, and prohibition of future submissions to FAR Publisher may be taken.

5. Transparency and Accountability:

  • FAR Publisher is committed to transparency in its operations and decision-making processes. All editorial decisions are based on the merits of the submitted work and adherence to ethical standards.
  • The journal will publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

By adhering to these publication ethics, FAR Publisher aims to promote a culture of integrity, responsibility, and trust in academic publishing. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—are expected to uphold these ethical standards to ensure the publication of high-quality, credible research.
